General terms and conditions of business
Doula support
These are the general terms and conditions (GTC) regarding the direct support offered as a doula by Doula Julia around pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Competence regulation
Doula Julia provides emotional and informative support to expectant parents during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Doula services do not replace medical care provided by doctors or midwives but complement it.
Doula Julia explicitly assumes no responsibility for medical aspects/decisions and their consequences during birth support. She cannot be held liable for them. Responsibility in this regard lies with the midwife(s), the doctors, and the parents themselves.
The support is provided on a self-directed basis. Clients are responsible for clarifying medical questions and their physical condition with their attending physician or midwife.
On call
The on-call service is available during the agreed period (normally from two weeks before the expected due date until the birth). During this time, Doula Julia is generally reachable and ready to attend the birth.
In rare exceptional cases (e.g. illness, simultaneous births), Doula Julia always endeavors to organize a substitute upon request, or the accompaniment will be cancelled.
Appointments & Cancellations
-
Scheduled appointments (initial consultations, preliminary discussions, and follow-up discussions) are binding. Cancellations up to 24 hours in advance are free of charge; after that, the appointment may be charged.
Remuneration
The total amount will be invoiced to the parents within the agreed timeframe as stipulated in the contract. Payment is due within 30 days of the invoice date.
Transfers should be made to account CH43 0070 0114 9043 9559 4
Any reimbursement of costs by the health insurance company is the responsibility of the clients.
Birth without the presence of a doula
-
If Doula Julia cannot be present at the birth for reasons beyond her control (e.g., very rapid labor, delayed notification, birth before the start of the on-call period), the agreed-upon fee remains payable. Individual solutions can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
-
If Doula Julia is unable to be present at the birth due to her own fault (e.g., illness, accident, simultaneous births), the services already rendered and travel expenses will be billed separately. On-call availability will be charged at CHF 48.- per 24 hours. Doula Julia will endeavor to arrange a suitable backup doula if desired.
Liability
-
The Doula is only liable for damages resulting from gross negligence or intent. Liability for medical complications is excluded.
-
Doula Julia is covered by mandatory business liability insurance.
Confidentiality
-
Personal information will be treated confidentially.
Final provisions
-
Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Mellingen, Aargau.
Classes
These are the general terms and conditions (GTC) regarding the course offerings of Doula Julia (Fit with Baby Bump, Birth Preparation, Pelvic Floor and Postnatal Recovery).
Registration / Course fees
Registration (in writing or verbally) is binding and obligates the participant to pay the course fees within the agreed timeframe.
The obligation to pay remains even if the course is not attended.
Payment is due within 10 days or before the course begins.
Transfers should be made to account CH43 0070 0114 9043 9559 4
Please do not make deposits at the post office counter due to fees.
Subscription renewal / Cancellation
Subscription renewals are done by mutual agreement without requiring new registration.
Please notify us of any cancellations by the end of your subscription at the latest.
Compensating for absences/lessons
Missed lessons are generally not credited or refunded. However, it is possible to make up missed lessons in another course by prior arrangement.
After the subscription ends, there is no longer any entitlement to make up missed lessons.
For extended absences or cancellations due to health reasons (doctor's certificate), a credit will be issued for half of the missed lessons. This credit is valid for one year (from the date of the doctor's certificate). No refund of the course fee.
Supplement to the "Fit with Baby Bump" program: Absences due to health reasons (doctor's certificate) can be fully compensated for during the postpartum recovery course. This arrangement is valid for one year (from the date of the doctor's certificate). Course fees are non-refundable.
Rescheduling / Cancellation
Appointments for private childbirth preparation classes (private courses only) can be rescheduled in case of illness. Rescheduling is free of charge. Please notify us well in advance of your scheduled appointment.
A fee of CHF 50.- will be charged for cancellations and short-notice rescheduling of group childbirth preparation sessions.
Course duration and subscription prices
10-lesson packages are valid for 12 weeks from the start date, 5-lesson packages for 6 weeks. The duration of a 10-lesson/5-lesson package depends on the number of weeks in which the lessons actually take place.
Weeks in which no classes will take place will be communicated to the participants within a reasonable timeframe.
All subscriptions are personal and non-transferable.
Individual lessons for "Fit with Baby Bump" and for postpartum recovery courses can only be booked for trial lessons or a course following a subscription.
The course and subscription prices published on doulajulia.ch apply.
Holidays / Lesson cancellations
There are no classes on official public holidays.
Lesson cancellations due to the absence or illness of the course instructor will be credited to the affected course participants.
For other unplanned lesson cancellations, e.g. due to official regulations or the unavailability of the course location, Doula Julia strives to find situationally adapted, accommodating solutions.
Insurance / Liability
Participants are responsible for their own insurance coverage for damages they cause themselves.
By registering, course participants confirm that they have independently clarified their participation requirements, particularly with regard to medical aspects, and that there are no health concerns that would preclude their participation.
The course instructor is covered by mandatory business liability insurance.
